The couple moved the iron grille. They found a hole large enough for kids to crawl through, so their nephew and his friend went through it. The kids found a cellar on the other side and it somewhat resembled a chapel. The couple asked some historians about it and they learned that the room dated to the 1700s. It’s believed to have been used as a secret church by Catholics in the time when they were persecuted and executed.
